Muscardini Cellars, based out of Sonoma California, is a small family owned and operated winery. Their tasting room is a delight to visit, located inside a historic red schoolhouse from the 1860s. Their staff is attentive, knows guests and members by name, and focuses on giving guests amazing experiences such as blind tastings, food pairings and musical adventures.
I also love how they choose their grapes from sustainably grown vineyards (in some cases biodynamic and organic too!).
But the real star of Muscardini Cellars is the wine. I can't wait to introduce them to you and make you a fan also!
I'm proud to be able to feature two of my very favorite Muscardini wines on my site! You can choose from:
- 2018 Sangiovese: Bright and slightly spiced, this wine is a crowd pleaser! On the palate, lush flavors of ripe strawberry, dark plum, cherry and pomegranate are intertwined with hints of caramel, chocolate, candy capped mushrooms, and savory spice. As the profile expands, the flavors are balanced with a perfect combination of vibrant acidity, firm structure, smooth tannins, and a lingering finish. The end result is a marvelous, food-friendly wine that gets better with more time in the glass.
- 2017 Tesoro red blend: One of my all time faves for its brooding complexity. This wine is blend made in the "super tuscan" style with 49% Sangiovese, 23% Syrah, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 8% Petite Sirah it is earthy and fruity and brings a complex sophistication to any occasion. On the palate, we get wild savory flavors that include white cherry, hibiscus, dried rose petal, heirloom tomato, sage, cedar and sweet tobacco leaf.
