Enjoy this very special bottle of 2010 vintage En Tirage "Late Disgorged" Blanc de Noirs Sparkling Wine from California. I think of it as more like a Brut Rose.
This En Tirage is a really special sparkler made by a boutique producer (only 300 cases made!) and is reminiscent of an aged Champagne.
It's cousin (a blanc de blancs) recently earned high accolades in a blind Champagne tasting that I hosted (it placed second behind a 2010 vintage bottle of Dom Perignon!) and in front of all the other Champagnes!
This is a really special wine at a special price! It's got a beautiful pink/salmon color, a creamy nutty and yeasty character that will have your friends thinking it's a $200 bottle of Champagne! Even after a long time aging, it still has really bright acidity and fruit flavors dominated by green apple & sour cherry. Offered to you at a special price with the class below retail.
"Late Disgorged" means that this wine sat "sur lies" or on the yeast for an extended period of time - 6 years in this case. That creates a particularly creamy and nutty sparkler with lots of brioche and fresh baked bread notes.
If you like brut rose and aged champagne, you've got to try this wine!
