Announcing Wines in the Spring Shipment!

I'm excited to announce the lineup (or "wine-up"!) for my Spring club shipment and some special offers and features.

Learn about and receive premium wines from boutique and sustainable wineries that you won't find in the stores. I travel across California to find the ones I'm most excited to share. Enjoy member engagement with complimentary virtual events (it is a "club" after all). You'll also receive the wines below retail and get savings on other events and products. For March's shipment we'll be enjoying these wines:

2018 Hook & Ladder Estate Sangiovese (Chalk Hill AVA) Hook & Ladder makes wines from their sustainably farmed estate vineyards. This Sangiovese is one of my favorite of their wines (they make great Pinots too!). Medium acidity, tannins and acids this wine has big flavors of plums, red cherries, grape jolly rancher and violets. A nice hint of spice, oregano/jalepeno add to the complexity. I recommend serving a bit more chilled than most reds.

2018 Unti Zinfandel (Dry Creek Valley AVA) Mick Unti specializes in Mediterannean varieties from all estate grapes farmed organically with some biodynamic preparations to produce a biodiverse vineyard. All of Unti's wines are exceptional and I had trouble choosing just one to share with you. You'll likely see more in the future but for now we'll enjoy the Zinfandel which is enhanced with a touch of Petite Syrah for some structure and some Barbera for acidity. The resulting wine is dark and richly purple in color with a velvety juicy feel. Super fruity with blackberry, strawberry, cream soda, black pepper flavors. This wine has a long finish with more tannins and acids than most Zinfandels. Will pair well with food or age nicely. 90pts Wine Spectator

2019 Stirm Wirz Vineyard Riesling (Cienega Valley AVA) Ryan Stirm specializes in historically relevant varieties and this Riesling is one of my favorites. The Wirz vineyard is the 2nd oldest Riesling vineyard, sustainably and dry farmed. Made from old vines, dry farmed, 4-picks of the grapes, with slight skin contact and 2 years in stainless steel - this Riesling has really nice body and structure. Intense flavors of apples, pear, some peach there is also a nice floral nature and salinity to this wine, with the slight petrol so distinctive of Riesling.
